The Minister We Seek
Could it be you?

The Minister We Seek

Opportunity knocks

Change is not easy. We have been strongly inspired by a single beloved senior minister, Rev. Frank Hall, for 29 years. But as one door closes, another opens. We feel ready to grow. We seek a minister who is the best fit for our complex congregation now, and as we hope to become.

One quality is key to all others

Do we need an inspiring preacher who is also willing to be an effective manager? Or a dynamic Chief of Staff to lead us through change who is also an excellent preacher?

Obviously we want both! But above all, you must have warmth and magnetism when you preach and interact with us. Without that, no other qualities will matter; with that, almost anything will be possible.

It’s all about connection

We seek a preacher who connects with us in a down-to-earth, personal way. One who brings us together, feeds our souls, and expands our minds, with sermons that are intellectually stimulating yet leavened with humor.

We want new ideas, built by consensus

We want our minister to bring new thinking into our congregation. But not everyone will agree on what to change and what to keep the same. Working with us, you will hear differing viewpoints and gain our trust with warmth, humor, and compassion.

We want to love you…
we want you to love us

We hope you’ll be approachable, genuine and humble, with empathy and skill in pastoral care and personal counseling. Confidence along with the willingness to listen to constructive feedback would be welcome.

Involved in all our lives

We want a minister who interacts with our children and youth, attracts young families, supports our LGBT members, and engages with our seniors.

Committed to Social Justice

We hope you’ll speak out on important issues, and act as the face of our congregation in the surrounding community. We seek a minister who is creative and articulate, who will help build our reputation as a beacon of liberal religion.

Senior Minister's Office

Chief of Staff

We hope you can be a “big picture” leader of a complex, expanding organization. As Chief of Staff, you’ll need to be an effective manager, with leadership skills to collaboratively build our organizational strengths.

Growth and funding

An excellent new ministry should lead to an improvement in the congregation’s financial support. We hope you’ll be enthusiastic about growth, talk about stewardship, and give people a vision that will inspire generosity.

Let’s have some fun too

We would be overjoyed if, in addition to all the above qualities, you’re happy to be among us, have a sense of humor, are fun to be around, and enjoy a good party once in a while. That’s a big part of who we are.
